Open Spring Mounts

Open spring vibration isolators, stocked and supplied in Chennai by Raj Trading Corporation, in four series covering 10 kg to 2300 kg per mount. A spring mount is specified on deflection rather than on load alone: these are made in nominal 20 mm, 25 mm and 50 mm deflection at rated load, which is where they isolate low frequency vibration that a bonded rubber mount is too stiff to touch. Springs are colour coded by rated load, so a mount can be identified on site long after its label has gone, and each carries 50 per cent overload capacity. The OSB20 and OSS20 series cover 10 kg to 100 kg at 20 mm deflection; OS25 covers 30 kg to 2300 kg at 25 mm; OS50 covers 100 kg to 1300 kg at 50 mm. Each mount has an expanding rubber cup around the spring for high frequency attenuation, and a base that can be bolted down or left free standing on a 5 mm rubber pad. Typical uses are air handling units, axial and centrifugal fans, low level pipe work, and pumps, generating sets and compressors on inertia bases.
