Shaft Couplings

Precision and power transmission shaft couplings stocked and supplied in Chennai by Raj Trading Corporation, in seven ranges from a 14 mm encoder coupling to a 200 mm jaw coupling rated at 4500 Nm. A coupling carries torque across the misalignment between two shafts, so the first choice is whether it has to absorb that misalignment or hold the shafts rigidly in line. For encoders, tachogenerators and stepper motors there are one piece beam couplings with a helical slit (types AF and AS, 14 to 50 mm outer diameter), polyurethane element encoder couplings (type EC) and plastic disc couplings (type DC) that run to 12000 rpm. For servo motors, ball screws and CNC axes, where backlash is not acceptable at higher torque, there are precision jaw couplings on a polyurethane spider (type GS, size 9 to 55, 1.8 to 685 Nm) and stainless steel lamina disc couplings in single and double pack (types SL and DL, size 5 to 42). For pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, cooling towers and rolling mills there are industrial jaw couplings (type GR, size 19 to 90, 10 to 4500 Nm) with a choice of 64 Shore D, 92 Shore A or 98 Shore A spider. Where two shafts must be held as one with no angular freedom there are rigid clamping couplings in steel and stainless, one piece or split (types ST, SS, STS and SSS, 10 to 30 mm bore). Hubs are supplied unbored, pilot bored or finish bored with keyway.
